The transcript sheds light on James Biden's assertions made during his appearance before the committee the previous week.
During his testimony, James Biden maintained that his brother, President Biden, had no involvement in the business dealings of their family.
Committee investigators identified inconsistencies in James Biden's statements when compared to testimonies provided by Hunter Biden, Tony Bobulinski, and other former associates of the Biden family's business ventures.
An aide from the House Oversight Committee disclosed to Fox News Digital that James Biden's testimony conflicted with the sworn accounts of Hunter Biden and Tony Bobulinski.
Both Hunter Biden and Bobulinski purportedly testified to a meeting involving Joe Biden, Bobulinski, and James Biden at a California hotel.
James Biden disputed this claim, particularly referencing a supposed gathering in May 2017 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
He recollected that his brother had a speaking engagement at the hotel but emphasized that he did not accompany him inside. Moreover, he adamantly denied any recollection of a meeting at the hotel involving Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, and Bobulinski, asserting that such an event never occurred.
This discrepancy arises following Hunter Biden's testimony affirming a meeting with his father and Bobulinski at the Beverly Hilton, indicating a stark contrast between the testimonies provided.
Further scrutiny was directed towards the question of whether Joe Biden met with the chairman of the Chinese energy firm CEFC. Rob Walker, a former business associate, testified to Biden's brief presence at a lunch meeting with CEFC representatives in Washington D.C. in 2017. While Hunter Biden did not recall this specific meeting, he did not challenge Walker's account.
James Biden, however, claimed to possess no knowledge of such an encounter between Joe Biden and the CEFC chairman during his own testimony.
In response to the testimonies presented, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer announced the initiation of the inquiry's next phase. Following testimonies from Hunter Biden, James Biden, and their former associates, Comer expressed his intention to transition to public hearings, signaling a new development in the impeachment inquiry against President Biden.
