An Ohio Democrat just suggested that President Joe Biden's "death is imminent." 

We are not exaggerating here. The lawmaker is Sharon Sweda, the leader of the Democratic Party in Lorain County, Ohio. Sweda said as much during a recent interview that she did with the Washington Post. 

Sweda, referring to Biden, told the outlet, "He is in a period of his life where passing and death is imminent."

"We are all on a ticking clock," she added. "But, when you’re at his age or at [former President Donald] Trump’s age, that clock is ticking a little faster, and that’s a concern for voters."

Biden is 80 years old and about to turn 81, whereas Trump is 77 years old.

Sweda, during the interview, specifically said that voters have expressed concern to her about Biden's old age. The polls would support this.

The Daily Wire recently reported: "A poll published by The Wall Street Journal . . . found that 73% of voters consider Biden to be too old to run for president again, including two-thirds of Democrats."

The outlet adds, "The concerning results for Democrats came on the heels of an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll that found 77% of voters, including 69% of Democrats, feel the president is too old."

There have been other polls that have confirmed this, such as this one from CNN.

Both Sweda and the Post go to great lengths to suggest that the age problem is not just a problem for Biden but it is also a problem for Trump. The Post, for example, reports, "Many in the party continue to voice confidence in Biden, and they note that Trump himself is not much younger at 77."

The fact of the matter, however, is that the polls do not support the idea that age is as much of a problem for Trump as it is for Biden.

Age, itself, is just a number, and what appears to be concerning to voters is not so much the number of Biden's age, but the obvious signs of aging that Biden has repeatedly shown. Examples are abundant: Perhaps, you saw the recent event where Biden, within minutes, repeated the same story twice, using practically the same exact language, before the same audience.

This sort of stuff just does not happen to Trump, who, indeed, is only a few years younger than Biden. In contrast to Biden, Trump always appears mentally sharp and full of energy, despite his grueling schedule and despite the constant attacks from the Democrats.

Sweda is right, of course, that we do not know when death is going to come for each of us. But, the idea that age has crept up on Trump in the same manner that it has crept up on Biden is a bit absurd.
