New York Mayor Eric Adams (D) has had a rough year, to say the least.
That was evidenced once again, according to Breitbart, after several of the mayor's cellular devices, including phones and other devices, were seized by the FBI with regard to an investigation into his campaign's possible collusion with Turkey's government.
The New York Times first reported that Adams, after attending a recent event, was approached by FBI agents while his security team was asked to back away from the mayor's vehicle before entering the vehicle with him.
Breitbart noted:
The agents then took devices including at least two cellphones and an iPad, which the Times said were returned to him within days.
It added:
The federal probe into Adams’ campaign went public last week when FBI agents searched the home of his former top fund-raiser — a 25-year-old one-time intern, Brianna Suggs — seizing laptops, cell phones and a manila folder labeled “Eric Adams.”
The new twist in the situation caused Adams to fly back to New York from Washington D.C., where he was originally slated to ask the Biden administration for a large appropriation to help the city with the influx of illegal immigrants, along with several other large-city U.S. mayors.

Notably, the warrant for the FBI seizure explained that federal authorities were investigating whether or not Adams' campaign received donations from Turkey's government or other Turkish officials under a false list of contributors.
Several social media users suggested that Adams was now being targeted after making his frustrations with the illegal immigration system -- which was a shot at the Biden administration's policies -- public.
"Eric Adams complained a little too much about the border. Now the full force of the Biden DOJ has been weaponized against him," Republic Review wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"100% correct that is the only reason that the Biden DoJ is going after him this DoJ goes after anyone who criticizes the Biden administration," another X user wrote.
Another X user added, "Big City Mayors: Keep your trap shut about the flood of illegal immigrants in your cities. Message sent."
Only time will tell if Adams really has something to worry about, or if it's the Biden administration exacting a bit of public revenge for his recent remarks.
