The writing has been on the wall for Nikki Haley's presidential campaign for some time and she refused to acknowledge the warning and now Babylon has fallen.
Trump absolutely annihilated Haley in her home state of South Carolina on Saturday delivering the final blow to a campaign that should have been ended months ago.
The 2024 GOP presidential nomination is essentially Trump's now with Haley being his only competition and she couldn't even challenge Trump in her own state.
The race was called very quickly after polls closed as it became quickly apparent that Haley was nowhere near Trump. With Trump's victories in Iowa and New Hampshire, many are wondering why the race hasn't been called off and Trump declared the nominee.
At this point, Haley is just burning money and Republicans are hurting themselves by infighting. While Haley refuses to officially drop out, the race is over and Trump has bigger fish to fry in the form of President Joe Biden.
When Trump left the White House in 2021, many thought that his political career was over and the Trump experiment had failed.
Fast forward to 2024 and Trump is the most popular Republican candidate in years and is arguably stronger than he was in 2016 when he beat Hillary Clinton.
Considering Trump is also fighting multiple criminal indictments and countless obviously political legal attacks, his unstoppable momentum is even more impressive.
It says a lot about the Republican Party that not a single candidate could step up and unseat Trump while Trump is stretched thin fighting a war on multiple fronts.
Nikki Haley is the last man standing with other Republicans like Vivek Ramaswamy and Ron DeSantis out of the picture. However, Haley never stood a chance and this may have been her last gasp at relevancy.
As for Trump, he's getting the rematch that he has been waiting years for. He can finally get his revenge and retake the White House and then spend the next four years truly reshaping America and crushing those who perverted America's institutions to stop him.
Where Trump's career came back from the dead, Haley's career is unlikely to do the same. Her presidential run felt inorganic and manufactured by the Republican establishment from the beginning and her outdated politics were more akin to Hillary Clinton's than those of the average conservative.
By many definitions, Haley is the classic RINO who thinks that it is 2012 and that voters are still buying what John McCain and Mitt Romney tried to sell.
Trump changed the rules of the game and exposed establishment Republican's for the frauds they are. Voters aren't going to forget Haley and her terrible ideas anytime soon.
