Newt Gingrich Claims Biden Was Forced Out By Obama's

In a revealing radio interview, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich suggested that President Joe Biden attributes his decision not to run in the 2024 presidential election to the Obamas, claiming internal party dynamics influenced his exit.

The Hill reported that according to Gingrich, Biden believes the Obamas, along with other key Democrats, orchestrated his withdrawal from the upcoming election.

Gingrich's comments came during an interview with John Catsimatidis on "Cats Roundtable" on WABC 770 AM. He articulated a sense of betrayal felt by Biden towards former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. Gingrich asserted that this wasn't the first instance of such influence, citing a similar situation in 2016 with Hillary Clinton.

"We were told that he has still not talked to Nancy Pelosi," Gingrich revealed, underscoring the deepening rift within Democratic Party leadership. The former Speaker's remarks painted a picture of a party in discord, with Biden feeling sidelined by those he once considered allies.

The internal tensions reportedly culminated following Biden's disappointing performance in a June debate against former President Donald Trump, where Biden struggled with clarity and coherence.

Impact of Biden's Debate Performance on Campaign Decision

The CNN debate on June 27 was pivotal, according to Gingrich, who noted Biden's evident difficulties during the event.

This debate is believed to have solidified the decision-making process within the Democratic Party regarding Biden's future.

Biden's inability to articulate clear responses and complete his thoughts during the debate reportedly alarmed party officials and may have hastened calls for his withdrawal from the race.

These challenges were not confined to the debate stage, but also extended to his treatment at the Democratic convention in Chicago, described by Gingrich as "almost insulting."

The timing and nature of Biden's convention speech, according to Gingrich, further demonstrated the party's shifting support.

Speaking late at night, Biden's placement on the convention schedule was seen as a demotion by some.

"I thought the first night was a little sad in a way," Gingrich said, reflecting on the mood during Biden's speech. "I sort of sensed that Biden had that same feeling."

Immediately following his convention appearance, Biden flew to California, which Gingrich interpreted as a sign of the cold shoulder given to him by his party.

Biden's Reaction to Party Dynamics and Election Pressures

Gingrich elaborated on Biden's perceived isolation within his own party.

"Here are all the people who had knifed him in the back chanting, ‘Thank you, Joe. Thank you, Joe.’ I think he’s probably thinking to himself, ‘Wait a second. If you like me that much, how come I’m not the nominee?’" Gingrich commented.

This sentiment of betrayal, as expressed by Gingrich, highlights the complex and often harsh realities of political alliances and rivalries.

The former Speaker's insights into the internal workings and pressures within the Democratic Party offer a rare glimpse into the challenges faced by Biden and the strategic calculations that likely led to his decision not to seek reelection.
