The Republican National Committee (RNC) just unearthed video footage showing that U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman (D) was a massive supporter of lockdowns and related mandates throughout the COVID pandemic.
The video footage is from an interview that Fetterman did with CNN back on April 17, 2020. In the interview, Fetterman went all in on the Democrats' COVID approach, supporting a lockdown for an unspecified period of time.
"It wants to spread, and what we've done in Pennsylvania through the governor's aggressive stay-at-home orders has really stopped that, and I believe we're plateaued," Fetterman said. "But, we are weeks away from any kind of major announcement opening — if at all."
That "if at all" phrase deserves repeating.
Breitbart News highlights the fact that, despite seemingly being in favor of an indefinite lockdown, Fetterman did not feel the need to follow his own rules.
According to the outlet, in June of 2020, when Pennsylvania's Department of Health was still recommending a lockdown for state residents, Fetterman decided to take a trip to New Jersey that was funded by the taxpayer.
Based on this incident, Fetterman appears to be another one of those rules for thee but not for me Democrats.
This comes as Democrat Fetterman is facing off against Republican Mehmet Oz in the race for one of Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate seats. The RNC clearly wants to remind Pennsylvania voters who Fetterman really is.
The polls indicate that Fetterman currently has a slight lead over Oz. But, as the midterm elections approach, the trend has been in Oz's favor, and it now appears as though this is going to be another tight midterm race.
