Moms for America endorses Trump in 'fight' for nation's future

Moms for America officially endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential campaign on Tuesday.

The half-million-member organization shared the endorsement in a statement of support for Trump ahead of next year's primaries.

The statement

“What we need most right now are leaders who will protect our nation and the United States Constitution, defend the family, and stand for truth and common sense even when it isn’t popular to do so,” the group’s founder and president Kimberly Fletcher said in a statement.

“We need leaders who are not afraid to fight for what’s right and who will put America first,” she continued. “That is why Donald Trump has the complete and total endorsement of Moms for America Action!”

A proven leader

"Moms for America Action enthusiastically endorses Donald J. Trump for President of the United States," the group also posted to X, formerly Twitter.

"@realDonaldTrump is a proven leader who has already demonstrated that he will stand up for freedom and fight for American values, even when he is viciously attacked for doing so," it continued.

Trump's response

"Trump appeared with Fletcher and the group, saying the endorsement is an 'honor' and vowing to 'protect' families, mothers and American freedom," according to Florida Voice News.

"There is no better advocate for our country than the moms,” he said. “I had a great mom. I had a loving mom. And without her, I don’t know – who knows what would’ve happened, right?”

The early endorsement comes as a negative for other GOP opponents, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

The endorsement also adds to growing poll numbers that show Trump far ahead of other GOP contenders, with a close matchup in many national polls in a rematch with President Joe Biden.

The new endorsement also adds to a growing number of backers for Trump among conservatives as groups begin to unit around the former president for next year's election.
