Miller suggests Fox News needs to fire its pollster

Over the last week, there have been quite a few polls regarding President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office, including from Fox News, all supposedly showing the president tanking in public approval.

The Trump administration claims that these are all fake polls, to the point that adviser Stephen Miller has suggested Fox News should fire its pollsters.

Crashing in the polls

To me, the polls came in about as expected.

In the Fox News poll, Trump polled at 55% on border security, but that was about the only good news he had in this particular survey (most others were far worse).

Trump had a 47% disapproval rating on immigration, 56% disapproval on the economy, 59% disapproval on inflation, 58% disapproval on tariffs, 54% disapproval on foreign policy, and 53% disapproval on taxes.

This may not go over well, but there is only one person to blame for these polls, and that is Trump. He promised to have the Russia-Ukraine war over on day one, if not sooner, but it is still going on. He promised to lower gasoline and grocery prices on day one, but they are both still above acceptable levels. And the tariff war is making prices even higher. He overpromised in order to get elected and said he was the ONLY person who could make these things happen, so, of course, people are upset.

One thing they forgot

In a report earlier this week, I stated that people are upset, and they have every right to be, but there is one poll number that most outlets are not reporting, and that is the number of people who would still vote for Trump knowing on election day what they know now, and that number is a staggering high 94%.

So, no, the polls are not fake news, but the numbers are people letting Trump know they are upset, yet they are still letting out a bit more rope to let him get everything fixed, a development that has baffled analyst Frank Luntz.

Luntz stated, “I’ve been mocked for saying I’m surprised about this, but I’m surprised about this: that Trump voters, who acknowledge that they’re worth less today than they were on Election Day, that the 401(k)s they depend on for their future has been hurt, has been damaged and yet they stand behind him. They’ll make excuses that the markets were overbought. They’ll make excuses that we need to level set.”

“They’re willing to accept personal pain for them to get a readjustment of the relationship between the U.S. and China, a readjustment of the relationship between the U.S. and the rest of the world. They’ll take personal pain to get that readjustment. And Andrew, I’ve never seen this before because usually when you’re hurt economically, that changes your perspective and your politics. Not with these people. They’re staying firm," he added.

Fire them!

Miller was on Fox News this week talking to host John Roberts, when he suggested that Fox News got it wrong, which they did not.

He stated, “I don’t want to make things awkward for you, John, but it is our opinion that Fox News needs to fire its pollster. But, I won’t surprise you with that. I don’t think you’re surprised that I’m saying that. But the Fox News pollster has always been wrong about President Trump. They were the ones who said all summer long that Kamala Harris was gonna be the 47th president of the United States. So, we don’t acknowledge any of that polling.”

Miller is dead wrong regarding the presidential polling because it was back and forth throughout the race, with Trump actually pulling ahead at the end, or tied, which the Fox News survey stated.

Secondly, instead of whining about the polls, just admit that the American people are upset, but then be armed with the information regarding people not wanting to change their vote, saying they still have faith that Trump can pull this off. That would have been a far better look than Miller whining and calling legitimate polling fake news. It’s just childish. They tout polls when they like the numbers, then call the very same polls fake news when they don’t like them.
