Melania Trump Now An 'Empty Nester' As Barron Trump Starts College In New York

Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, has embarked on his collegiate journey in New York City as he turns 18.

The Palm Beach Post reported that Barron Trump has recently begun attending a prestigious but unnamed New York university for the fall 2024 semester.

With Barron going to college, former First Lady Melania Trump is now an 'empty nester' after years of being Barron's protector amid all the abuse and attacks on the Trump family.

In an effort to maintain a low profile during his graduation, Barron's name was deliberately not announced. This approach to privacy has been consistent with his recent absence from the public eye, including major political events such as the Republican National Convention in July.

His father, Donald Trump, spoke to the media about Barron's educational pursuits, stating, "He’s all set in a certain school that’s very good," and highlighted his academic prowess by adding, "He’s always been a very good student, he’s smart."

Exploring Barron Trump's University Choice

The decision regarding which university Barron would attend was shrouded in secrecy, diverging from the family tradition of choosing either the University of Pennsylvania or Georgetown University.

Instead, he has opted for an undisclosed institution in New York, sparking considerable curiosity and speculation.

Speculations in April 2024 suggested that Barron might attend New York University (NYU), located near Trump Tower where he spent a significant portion of his childhood.

Despite these rumors, his name does not appear in the student directories of NYU, nor those of other potential contenders such as Cornell and Columbia University.

With classes at NYU commencing on September 3, and at Columbia on September 5, the academic year is in full swing. Yet, the mystery surrounding Barron's specific educational choice remains intact.

Barron's Private Life and Family Traditions

The Trump family's educational legacy includes attendance at prestigious universities. Barron's half-siblings, for instance, have records of attending the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University.

This makes Barron’s deviation from these traditional choices even more noteworthy.

As the youngest of Donald Trump’s children, Barron has often been at the periphery of the limelight, evident from the discretion practiced during significant events like his high school graduation and his absence at this year's GOP convention.

It remains unclear whether his parents, Donald and Melania Trump, were present for the college move-in process.

The choice of living arrangements—whether on-campus or off-campus—is also not publicly known, adding another layer of privacy to Barron's new academic environment.

Reflections on Parenting and Political Life

As Barron embarks on this new phase of life, the dynamics within the Trump family may also be shifting, particularly for Melania Trump, who now finds herself an 'empty nester.'

The absence of her youngest child from home coincides with a period of reduced public engagement for Melania, compared to her time in the White House. This transition could mark a new chapter not only for Barron but also for Melania’s personal and public life trajectory.

The choices made by Barron for his education and the discreet manner in which they have been handled suggest a continued preference for privacy by the Trump family, despite their longstanding public presence.
