Malia Obama seen in rare photo, users note similarities to Michelle Obama

Children of current and former presidents are often protected by the families for obvious reasons.

That's why it's rare for photos to emerge of former first children. According to Yahoo, a rare photo of Malia Obama made the rounds on social media.

People commented on the similarities between Malia and her mother, former First Lady Michelle Obama. The two not only look similar but also share similar interests.

Malia was recently spotted leaving a popular gym, following in her mother's fitness footsteps.

Yahoo Entertainment noted:

It’s no secret that both Michelle and Barack Obama are all about fitness, both on and off the job. But Michelle is more known for her intense workout regimens like taking Megaformer classes, per the Standard, and waking up at 4:30 every morning to exercise. So it seems Malia also has a love for intense workouts, like her mother!

The Obamas have two daughters who were both admired by the media during the Obama's time in the White House.

Yahoo noted "Malia Ann, born on July 4, 1998, and Natasha (better known as Sasha), born on June 10, 2001."

While Malia Obama's rare photo made the rounds, the focus is still on her mother as far as the 2024 election is concerned.

There have been several high-profile political observers and commentators who have suggested the idea of Michelle Obama stepping in to replace President Joe Biden.

Biden's polling numbers are in the gutter and will remain there, and the campaign can't seem to beat Donald Trump in a hypothetical poll if their lives depended on it. That has caused many Democrats to wonder if Biden should be replaced.

Michelle Obama has the name recognition; she's married to the kingmaker of the Democratic Party, and she's a woman. That formula would almost certainly put her miles ahead of Biden as far as her chances of beating Trump.

The problem with pushing Biden out is what the party would need to do with Vice President Kamala Harris, who would expect to be the president's default replacement. However, Harris polls even worse than Biden, so that would be an even bigger risk.

Only time will tell if Michelle Obama's name is tossed into the hat.
