Majority says impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden is a legitimate way to hold him 'accountable'

According to a new poll, the majority of Americans believe that the current impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden is not an unfair political attack but a legitimate way to hold Biden accountable under the law.

The poll comes from ABC News and the Washington Post.

From Sept. 15 to Sept. 20, the pollster surveyed some 1,006 United States adults. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

The poll comes amid the impeachment inquiry that House Republicans, under House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), have launched into Biden. Republicans believe that they have uncovered sufficient evidence to warrant an investigation into whether or not Biden committed any impeachable offenses. This is the point of the impeachment inquiry.

But, the Biden regime disputes this, insisting that there is no evidence linking Biden to wrongdoing and that, therefore, Republicans are abusing the House's impeachment powers.

The Post-ABC poll puts the question to Americans, asking them whether the impeachment inquiry is a legitimate way to hold Biden accountable under the law or whether it is an unfair process that is being used by Republicans to attack their political opponent.

A majority - 58% - chose the former, saying that the impeachment inquiry is a legitimate way to hold Biden accountable under American law. This percentage includes 23% of Democrats and 63% of Independents.

On the other hand, only 32% said that Biden is being "unfairly victimized by his political opponents" with the impeachment inquiry. This figure only includes 29% of Independents and only 10% of Republicans.

The pollster went on to put the impeachment question to participants, asking them whether the House ought to proceed with an actual impeachment of Biden.

Americans appear to be split on this question. 47% said that the House ought not to impeach Biden, while 44% said that it should. The results were almost entirely among party lines, with 83% of Democrats voting against and 74% of Republicans voting for the impeachment of Biden.

Something worth factoring in, here, is the role of the media. The mainstream media, as it always does, has been vigorously defending Biden against not only the Republicans' impeachment inquiry but also against the Republicans' investigation into the Biden family business and against Biden's alleged role in that business.

Yet, despite this, according to the poll, there is still a large number of Americans who believe that the impeachment inquiry is a legitimate way to hold Biden accountable under the law and who believe that an actual impeachment may be warranted.

Imagine what the figures would be without the mainstream media's heavily biased coverage.

Next up, House Republicans, on Thursday, are going to hold a public hearing to show the American people the evidence that they have that would support an impeachment of Biden.
