South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said that he is confident that Americans would support a 15-week abortion ban, despite not having the votes in the Senate.
Graham shared the remarks during an interview with Shannon Bream on "Fox News Sunday."

"I'm pro-life, even in an election year," Graham said.
"I am confident the American people would accept a national ban on abortion at 15 weeks," Graham added. "And to those who suggest that being pro-life is losing politics, I reject that."
If Democrats want to argue painful late-term abortions up until birth - like those taking place in Maryland, California, New York, Illinois and Oregon - make America a better place they are free to do so.

The claim has led to much criticism from leftist leaders who believe the numbers are on their side when it comes to abortion laws. While some states include voters who would favor widespread abortion rights, the majority of states likely do not.
The overturn of Roe v. Wade means states can decide how to handle the issue, but Graham is trying to do even more, pushing for a vote on a national 15-week ban.
