Here we go again… another judge blocking yet another Trump order.
This time, a judge has blocked ICE from making “indiscriminate” arrests during its California ICE raids.
The order was in response to reports from California of the Trump administration running widespread raids in California, including in public spaces such as parks.
Both sides of the aisle are now digging in when it comes to immigration raids.
Donald Trump is not backing down, and Democrats are now leading protests of these raids while also encouraging supporters to get out there and fight back against the raids.
That is likely what has led to such a significant rise against ICE agents.
In just the last few months, attacks have risen by 400%, then 500%, and now reports have attacks against agents up by 700% over the same period last year (this is more attacks than were seen all of last year).
While Trump was in Texas, he was asked about all these attacks against ICE agents, and he is clearly done playing games.
Trump stated, "I am on my way back from Texas, and watched in disbelief as THUGS were violently throwing rocks and bricks at ICE Officers while they were moving down a roadway in their car and/or official vehicle.
"Tremendous damage was done to these brand new vehicles. I know for a fact that these Officers are having a hard time with allowing this to happen in that it shows such total disrespect for LAW AND ORDER."
He then added, "I am giving Total Authorization for ICE to protect itself, just like they protect the Public," he wrote. "I never want to see a car carrying a Law Enforcement Officer attacked again! AUTHORIZATION IMMEDIATELY GRANTED FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
The latest ruling by a Biden-appointed judge is likely to turn up the heat even more with protesters.
US District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong is blocking ICE from being able to conduct “roving patrols” to find illegal immigrants, stating, “The factors that defendants appear to rely on for reasonable suspicion seem no more indicative of illegal presence in the country than of legal presence — such as working at low-wage occupations such as car wash attendants and day laborers. That is insufficient and impermissible.”
California Central District US Attorney Bill Essayli responded to the ruling, posting, “We strongly disagree with the allegations in the lawsuit and maintain that our agents have never detained individuals without proper legal justification. Our federal agents will continue to enforce the law and abide by the US Constitution.”
The administration added that operations like the one in California are not random, as agents are responding to reports received, and they are “highly targeted.” Something tells me this is an order that will be followed by this administration, daring the court to take it further.
