Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (SPEC) John Kerry could soon be in hot water over secret CCP negotiations he allegedly had under the guise of climate advocacy, according to top House Republicans.
Fox News reported that House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) would soon open a probe into Kerry and the negotiations.
The powerful House Oversight Committee informed Kerry of the investigation, writing that the committee "has opened an investigation into Kerry's role in the Biden administration and, in particular, his high-level climate negotiations with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). To date, Kerry has ignored information and document requests from Comer and other committee Republicans sent when they were in the minority.
Comer noted that Kerry has been unresponsive in his committee's attempts to garner information.
The Republican chairman's letter held nothing back.
"To date, you have failed to respond to any of our requests," Comer wrote to Kerry. "Yet, you continue to engage in activities that could undermine our economic health, skirt congressional authority, and threaten foreign policy under the guise of climate advocacy," Comer wrote.
Comer added: "The Committee requests documents and information to understand your role and provide necessary transparency over the SPEC and its activities."
"As a member of the President’s cabinet, you should be representing the United States’ interests. Your statements, however, consistently show disregard for American national security and taxpayer dollars."
Unelected bureaucrats like John Kerry are setting foreign policy and schmoozing with China without U.S. Senate confirmation.
The American people deserve to fully understand the role Kerry plays in the Biden Administration.@GOPoversight will get answers. @larry_kudlow pic.twitter.com/qqF7cJllrZ

Fox News noted Kerry's position and the power it holds:
Kerry's position gives him a spot on the president's cabinet and National Security Council. Since taking on the role, he has traveled worldwide, attending high-profile climate summits and diplomatic engagements in an effort to push a global transition from fossil fuels to green energy alternatives.
The U.S. SPEC's annual budget is $13.9 million and is allowed to have 45 employees, though very little is known about exactly what role it plays.
But at the very least, Kerry's position means he should be held accountable for whatever was said in the secretive talks.
Obviously, Chairman Comer feels as though Kerry needs to answer for something.
This investigation is one of many being opened by House Republicans, as they vowed to do once securing majority power. Let's hope they continue hitting the other side hard with investigations that matter.
