Joe Biden's biographer reveals that it "wouldn't be a total shock" if Joe Biden drops out of the race soon

Biographer Franklin Foer believes it "wouldn't be a total shock" if President Joe Biden does not seek a second term in 2024, The Hill reported. Foer said this while promoting his new book, "The Last Politician: Inside Joe Biden's White House," due out later this week.

Foer was speaking to Chuck Todd on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday about the upcoming release that will chronicle the first two years of Biden's presidency. He made his prediction ahead of the campaign season that could change based on Biden's health and age.

"I would say it would; it would be a surprise to me," Foer told Todd. "But it wouldn’t be a total surprise," he added.

Foer went on to say that "it wouldn’t be a total shock" if Biden dropped out. "When he talks about his life, he uses this word, fate, constantly," Foer continued.

"Joe Biden is a very religious guy, and fate is a word loaded with religious meaning. And he always talks about, 'He can’t say where fate goes," Foer pointed out.

"And so I always, when I hear that, to me, it’s the ellipses in the sentence when he’s talking about his own future," he added. Biden, 80, officially announced his intention to run again earlier this year.

While he publicly expresses his willingness to stay in the race, concerns about his health and mental fitness persist behind the scenes from both sides of the political aisle. Fellow Democrats have begun outwardly suggesting replacing Biden with another candidate before 2024.

Last month, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) urged Biden to "pass the torch," Axios reported. "I would like to see Joe Biden, a wonderful and remarkable man, pass the torch — cement this extraordinary legacy," Phillips claimed.

"And by the way, this is not how everybody thinks, but I do believe the majority wants to move on," he added. Phillips pointed to troubling approval numbers and a tough race against former President Donald Trump, who is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination.

"Joe Biden right now is down seven points in the four swing states that will decide the next election," Phillips said, noting Biden's approval numbers are at a historic low. In April, an NBC News poll found that 70% of Americans believe Biden should not seek a second term, including 51% who are Democrats.

Phillips also claimed that Biden is "not up to a second term" and that Americans are ready for somebody new. Still, Foer said that Biden's opponents have repeatedly "underestimated" the elderly politician and that he's used that fact to his benefit.

"It doesn’t take Bob Woodward to understand that Joe Biden is old, and I’m not a gerontologist, and I can’t predict how the next couple of years will age Joe Biden," Foer said. "I think what my book does is shows that he is somebody who, for whom — he’s buried in details," he added.

"He’s somebody who is very technocratic, really obsessed with the intricacies of policy. He’s a very activist president in that he micromanages a lot of the dealings in the White House," Foer added.

Anyone with eyes can see that Biden has no business running for a second term. He is old, feeble, and unfit for office, but the Democrats are too desperate to win at all costs to do anything about it.
