Joe Biden White House unveils new strategy to counter 'Islamophobia'

The White House has unveiled a new initiative to combat Islamophobia.

Vice President Kamala Harris, on Wednesday, announced the new initiative on X.

"For years, Muslims in America and those perceived to be Muslim have endured a disproportionate number of hate-fueled attacks. As a result of the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel and the Humanitarian crisis in Gaza, we have seen an uptick in anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab, antisemitic, and Islamophobia incidents across America . . .," Harris says in the above video.

She adds:

And so, today, I am proud to announce the Biden-Harris administration will develop our nation’s first National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia. This strategy will be a comprehensive and detailed plan to protect Muslims and those perceived to be Muslim from hate, bigotry, and violence, and to address the concern that some government policies may discriminate against Muslims.

Suffice it to say that the White House is facing some serious criticism for this initiative, considering, as the New York Post points out, the fact that America has witnessed a sharp rise in antisemitism over the past month, following Hamas' Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel.

Canadian professor Gad Saad took to social media to highlight the absurdity of the situation.

Countless others have joined in the criticism, including conservative radio show host Tammy Bruce.

The Daily Caller, in its reports, suggests that the impetus for the Biden administration new anti-Islamophobia initiative is the 2024 presidential election.

The outlet reports:

Since Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel, President Joe Biden has reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to the country while they wage war on Hamas. Prominent Biden-allies, as well as Muslim groups, have criticized the president and his administration for being too pro-Israel, worrying that the stance will cost Biden votes in his re-election bid.

The Daily Caller goes on to detail how some pro-Palestine Democratic Americans have threatened not to vote for Biden in 2024 if he does not call for a ceasefire in the current war between Israel and Palestine.

Thus far, Biden has made it clear that he will not give in to these groups by calling a ceasefire. But, with this new anti-Islamophobia initiative, it is clear that he and his administration are trying to appease them.
