Joe Biden under fire after failing to get Americans held hostage by Hamas freed

President Joe Biden received heavy criticism after his trip to Israel did not yield the release of any American hostages, the Daily Wire reported. The president promised the citizens of Gaza $100 million in humanitarian aid, no strings attached.

The main objective of Biden's whirlwind trip included a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the deadly terrorist attack that happened on Oct. 7. Perpetrated by Hamas, the surprise attack killed approximately 1,400 people and has thrown the region into chaos.

Biden advised the Israeli people to guard against being "consumed by rage" as families were wiped out and their country was destroyed. His other main message was the promise of aid for the people in Gaza suffering from the counterattacks waged by Israel.

Noticeably absent was any forceful discussion of freeing hostages. Hamas is reportedly holding dozens of people, including some American citizens, but Biden ignored the issue save for a brief acknowledgment.

Several people took to X, formerly Twitter, to fume about Biden's perceived failure and weakness on this matter. "Did I miss the part of Joe Biden’s speech about the American hostages?" Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) asked rhetorically

Another Twitter user was incredulous and asked if the president was "really going to leave the Middle East without a single American hostage being freed." The query was answered with a follow-up post.

"Yup. Biden left without any American hostages. At this point, him leaving Americans behind is routine," the response came with an unfortunate truth.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis similarly expressed outrage that Biden was dumping American taxpayer dollars into the hands of our enemies while not getting any hostages in return. "No U.S. tax dollars to the Gaza Strip," DeSantis, who is running for the GOP presidential nomination, urged.

"Hamas is holding American hostages, and Biden wants to fund them? I challenge every Republican running to step up to the plate and oppose Biden’s $100 million gift to Hamas," DeSantis said.

However, the most forceful articulation of this righteous outrage came from Marina Medvin, a defense attorney representing Jan. 6 clients. "I am outraged at Biden giving $100,000,000.00 of US taxpayer funds to Hamas, the government of Gaza," she posted to X.

"They’re holding babies, children, young girls hostage. They are holding AMERICANS hostage. And our president gave them taxpayer funds?!?" Medvin charged.

"I am fuming. This is absolutely atrocious. They slaughtered 1,400 people, a third of them little kids, in the most horrific and torturous ways, annihilating full families, and Biden tipped them."

The outrage against Biden is completely warranted in this situation. Not only has the world become more unstable under his watch, he seems completely powerless to do anything about it.

It's ridiculous to turn over millions to the aggressors in a war, even under the guise of aid. Add to it that the U.S. got zero hostages returned, this becomes another grave injustice from an incompetent administration.
