President Joe Biden referred to Maryland's first black Gov. Wes Moore (D) as "boy."
Biden shared the comment during a speech with IBEW union workers this week.
Oh man, this one is BAD. 🤦https://t.co/qdG5Rg6M4q

“You got a hell of a new governor in Wes Moore, I tell ya,” Biden said.
“He’s the real deal, and the boy looked like he could still play. He got some guns on him," he added.
Not only does Biden not sound great here, but also called Cedric Richmond "boy," something the left would lose it if he were a Republican: "I'm here with -- with my senior adviser and boy who knows Louisiana very, very well -- man -- and -- and New Orleans, Cedric Richmond." pic.twitter.com/T11qNAGJhu

It's not the first time Biden has referred to a political leader as "boy," including both black and white men.
"In August 2021, Biden introduced senior adviser Cedric Richmond, who is black, this way: 'I’m here with my senior adviser and boy who knows Louisiana very, very well and New Orleans, Cedric Richmond,'" The Daily Wire reported.
Its okay for Biden to call a black governor "Boy" but anyone else it is considered racist! https://t.co/JyGjL2l2X1

New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker called on Biden to apologize for the use of the term in the past.
"He is a presidential nominee, and to say something -- and again, it's not about working across the aisle, if anything I've made that a hallmark of my time in the Senate, to get big things done and legislation passed -- this is about him invoking a terrible power dynamic that he showed a lack of understanding or insensitivity to by invoking this idea that he was called 'son' by white segregationists who, yeah, they see in him their son," Booker said in 2019.
Many have highlighted the double standard among Democrats and mainstream media when Biden talks versus when conservatives make similar statements.
Mainstream outlets largely did not even mention Biden's reference, instead focusing on other talking points.
If a Republican had made the same statement, however, the quote would have likely been a top headline on nearly all outlets.
The concerning attitude of the media in guarding Biden's gaffes has reached record levels as the president continues to misspeak in public appearances.
