First Lady Jill Biden and President Joe Biden visited Beau Biden's grave on Saturday.
The Daily Mail reports that the Bidens did so before officially opening their campaign headquarters for the 2024 general election.
Beau Biden was the eldest son of Joe Biden and his first wife, Neilia Hunter Biden. Beau died in 2015, at the age of 46, as the result of brain cancer.
The president's son was buried at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church in Wilmington, Virginia.
The church happened to be on the way to Biden's 2024 campaign headquarters, which is located in downtown Wilmington, so the president and first lady decided to make a stop there on Saturday.
The outlet reports, "The Bidens' visit to Beau's grave comes the day after they were at Dover Air Force Base, where they attended the dignified transfer of the remains of the three American soldiers killed in Jordan last weekend."
After the visit to Beau's grave, Joe and Jill proceeded to the campaign headquarters.
According to the Daily Mail, both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris appeared at the campaign headquarters on Saturday to mark its official opening.
Per the outlet, "The entire Democratic ticket was in Wilmington to mark the official opening of their 2024 campaign headquarters. Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff flew up from Washington D.C. to join the Bidens in speaking to staff."
Biden, despite concerns about his campaign - including concerns from Democrats - appeared optimistic about his re-election chances.
"Look, I'm feeling good about where we are. I really am. You know, folks are starting to focus," Biden claimed. He later added, "So, there's a lot the stake, folks, we have an enormous obligation, but you know, I think it's time to finish the job here."
After stopping at the campaign headquarters, Biden headed to Los Angeles, California, where he met with Black voters amid concerns that Biden might be losing what has been a key voting block for Democrats.
Biden is currently dominating the Democratic Party's presidential primary, leading the field by, on average, 65.7 percentage points, according to Real Clear Politics. Biden has also easily won the initial state primaries, including, most recently, South Carolina's.
Winning the Democratic nomination, however, is not the challenge for Biden. Rather, the challenge is going to be the 2024 general election, where he is likely to face off against former President Donald Trump, who appears to be more popular than ever.
