Jeannie Mai says she found out about Jeezy divorce the same time it went public

Rapper Jeezy announced plans for divorce with TV host Jeannie Mai, with her finding out the same time as the public.

The news comes after a court filing noted the breakup of the high-profile entertainment couple.

The comments

“Even though this year, I met the most broken version of me. I also met the strongest version of me,” Mai Jenkins, 44, told host Jennifer Hudson on the couch, according to People.

“It was kind of hard, so yeah, it’s what I’m dealing with day by day, you know?” she continued of the divorce from Jeezy, 46, adding, “I think I’m doing better now.”

The battle

"The 'Soul Survivor' rapper filed for divorce in September after two years of marriage. Since then, the former 'The Real' host has temporarily lived in the couple's Los Angeles home; both have addressed custody arrangements on an 'informal' basis, according to the latest court filing," USA Today reported.

"The filing continues to say that both parties are in agreement with a visitation schedule through 2023, but according to Jenkins, addressing 'custodial and parenting time issues' informally is 'becoming increasingly less feasible,'" it added.

Her lawyer's statement

Her lawyer writes, "Wife reserves the right to amend this counterclaim to add other grounds for divorce, but which Wife does not wish to specify herein at this time in the hope this matter can be resolved without having to disclose such conduct publicly."

"Wife further shows that the Court should enforce Paragraph 8 of the Prenuptial Agreement regarding infidelity which provides, in pertinent part, that in the event that either party engages in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party via all forms of electronic communications, including but not limited to texting, sexting, Facetiming, social media and/or Direct Messages, shall result in a significant financial penalty upon the adulterous party," it continued.

The battle over the custody of their daughter has not been finalized and may take some time before a conclusion to the battle occurs.

For now, speculation and gossip continue to fill the headlines of many speaking out about the fallout in the marriage of the well-known couple.

The situation is expected to remain a focus of attention in the days ahead as the drama unfolds over the divorce and custody situation.
