NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is having his life picked apart, and all kinds of interesting tidbits from his past have come up.
He has also made some rather outlandish comments, including suggesting arresting Prime Minister Netanyahu if he comes to New York City.
Senator JD Vance just stepped in to knock the socialist down a rung or two.
One of Mamdani’s big plans involves eliminating the private housing market.
Mamdani wants the city to buy up housing as it hits the market to start large communes around the city. He stated, "Why do so many people end up homeless?
"It's not because there aren't enough homes to go around, there are plenty of empty homes. No. It's because housing people is not a primary goal of developers or landlords. Their goal, simply put, is to make a profit."
He then added, "[It's] not efficient or beneficial for the rest of society," Mamdani says. "Housing doesn't have to be seen as a market at all."
Mandani was also asked about what he would do if Prime Minister Netanyahu came to New York after the ICC, which the United States does not recognize, issued an arrest warrant for him.
He responded, “As mayor, New York City would arrest Benjamin Netanyahu. This is a city that our values are in line with international law. It’s time that our actions are also.”
When Netanyahu was asked about his comments, he more or less laughed it off, then said the real reason why he was not worried, stating, “I’m going to come there with President Trump and we’ll see.”
Does anyone really think the NYPD would try to get through Trump’s security detail to arrest Netanyahu? I just don’t see it happening.
With Mamdani dominating headlines right now, even among conservative publications, it was only a matter of time before Vance took him on, and he just did.
Vance stated, “Today is July 5, 2025, which means, as all of you know, that yesterday we celebrated the 249th anniversary of the birth of our nation. You know, the person who wishes to lead our largest city had, according to multiple media reports, never once publicly mentioned America’s Independence Day in earnest, but when he did so this year, this is what he said — and this is an actual quote.”
He then read Mamdani’s post, which stated, “America is beautiful, contradictory, unfinished. I am proud of our country even as we constantly strive to make it better, to protect and deepen our democracy, to fulfill its promise for each and every person who calls it home. Happy Independence Day. No Kings in America.”
Vance had just one question… “Who the hell does he think that he is?” He is probably the future mayor of New York City, so we are going to deal with this nonsense for at least four years unless the GOP can find a real candidate to counter him to run in that race.
