Ivanka Trump is fighting a court order that would compel her to testify against Donald Trump

In the civil complaint that alleges her father committed fraud, Ivanka Trump is contending that she should not be required to testify against him and that she should be exempt due to details of this case.

Bennet Moskowitz, an attorney for Donald Trump, indicated once more, in a request that was handed in earlier this week, that she has not been connected with the Trump Organization since 2016, as The Washington Examiner reported.

Even though an appeals court has already removed Trump from the case, which mostly covers the financial operations of Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Eric Trump, New York Attorney General Letitia James is still pursuing the eldest Trump daughter as a witness in the case.

This is despite the fact that the case largely covers the financial activities of Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Eric Trump.

Ivanka Trump is not actively involved in the Trump family business, nor does she currently call New York City her home.

It is Moskowitz's contention that James's jurisdiction would be exceeded if he attempted to serve a subpoena on Ivanka Trump since she is no longer a resident of New York. James's argument is based on the fact that Ivanka Trump no longer resides in New York.

"The NYAG knows this, which is why it has subpoenaed three corporate entities as an end-run around its failure to pursue Ms. Trump's deposition when it had the chance," Moskowitz wrote in the filing.

James asserts that Donald Trump lied about his own net worth in order to acquire more favorable loan terms and is accusing Trump of criminal activity by doing so..

As a direct result of this accusation, the attorney general's office is demanding that Donald Trump pay  damages in the amount of $250 million.

It is likely that both of of the former first sons will be called to testify and questioned as potential witnesses.

Trump has maintained that he did not engage in any unlawful activity related to James' claims. During the hearings this week, when he became frustrated and threw his hands in the air, he came perilously close to being charged with contempt of court.

As a direct consequence of this, Judge Arthur Engoron ordered both him and his counsel to maintain an appropriate level volume, respecting the decorum of the court, during the duration of the hearing.

In the meantime, Trump is running an election campaign to become the nominee of the Republican Party for president in the year 2024, despite these and other charges.

He faces competition from a number of other candidates, such as the former Vice President Mike Pence, the former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley, and the Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis.
