The author of an insider book about President Joe Biden claims that the president is insecure about being viewed as "stupid."
Franklin Foer, author of the new title, shared the comments during a Sunday interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"I think one of the things that’s so interesting about Joe Biden is that he has these insecurities that govern a lot of the ways in which he moves through the world," Foer said.
"And so, one of his primary insecurities is that he doesn’t want to be perceived as stupid because he had this plagiarism scandal back in the 1980s. So when he walks into an interview or walks into a press conference, he wants to have mastery of what he’s discussing. So his prep sessions can go on for long periods of time,” he added.

Foer also claimed that "every President who suffers an upside-down approval rating is going to moan about the media, and I think that there is some truth to it in his case where Trump caused the media to go -- to become so emotional, to get so engaged in covering all the high drama."
"So I think on certain measures he's probably right. He has been covered probably tougher than he deserves," he continued.
Although his approval rating has ticked up, Joe Biden remains one of the most unpopular American presidents in modern history https://t.co/5tnBX56Sdq

"Fewer than one in four Americans (24%) want President Joe Biden to run again, according to a poll published on August 17th by the Associated Press," the Economist noted.
"Even 55% of Democrats do not think he should run. Although his approval rating has ticked up, he remains one of the most unpopular presidents in modern history," it added.
The president's leadership is also under question over the ongoing investigation regarding his role in Hunter Biden's international business deals that allegedly involved millions of dollars.
The countries involved include China and Ukraine, two major nations of controversy during Biden's presidency.
Add an economy that is struggling alongside rising inflation and it's no surprise that Biden's ratings are low. Froer's book shows that Biden may be operating, however, out of concern about his own insecurities despite the issues of importance to Americans.
