An illegal immigrant is charged with killing 11-year-old Aiden Clark after crashing into the school bus the boy was riding in, Breitbart reported. Hermanio Joseph of Haiti was released into the interior of the U.S. after crossing the border illegally in 2022.
Joseph appeared in a Clark County, Ohio, court Monday to face charges of aggravated vehicular homicide for the crash that took Aiden's life. He's being held on $100,000 bond.
The 35-year-old man crashed his Honda Odyssey minivan into the school bus full of children for the Northwestern Local Schools in Aug. 22. The bus flipped, and Aiden was ejected.
It was to be the boy's first day of the new school year. According to the family's obituary, Aiden's "love of sports was unparalleled," and the family delighted in his "weird interests" and love of learning.
"From his daily vegetable gardening with his dad, trampoline jumping with his big sister, creating Minecraft worlds with his big bro, and always snuggling with mom," Aiden's obituary said. "Aiden loved playing old-school board games, doing word searches by flashlight in bed, playing outdoor sports inside, chasing his dog, Daisy Mae, and snuggling with anyone."
At the time of the crash, Joseph was on the road without a valid U.S. driver's license but had a Mexican license with him. Unfortunately, the man who allegedly took Aiden's life shouldn't have been there in the first place.
After attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in August of last year, Joseph was issued a Notice to Appear for a federal immigration hearing. As per President Joe Biden's Catch and Release border policy, Joseph was allowed to roam free while awaiting his hearing.
John Fabbricatore, National Immigration Center for Enforcement advisory board member, said Biden's immigration policy is squarely to blame for the series of events that led to this tragedy. "The Biden administration’s ‘welcome and release’ agenda continues to put our communities at risk," the former senior ICE official said.
"Their goal is to let in as many poorly vetted illegal aliens as possible, often without proper GPS tracking or scheduled court appearances. When will this administration put public safety first, or is mass migration more important?" Fabbricatore lamented.
One of the children on board the bus, 5-year-old Rigel Fisher, recalled the moment when Joseph's car crossed the center line and careened into the school bus. He told WSYX-TV that "it was pretty scary" for him and his brother, who was also aboard.
"When it tipped, it flipped over but then went back to the side," Riegel said. "The tire popped and a van hit it."
The child said he and his brother sustained minor injuries. "I got a really big bump on the head since I launched, and when I turn my neck and look up it hurts But since today, it feels much better," Rigel added.
Brittany Fisher, the boys' mother, recalled the horror of rushing to the accident scene. "I truly thought that my kids were dead. A parent's worst nightmare," she said.
One child is dead, and several others are no doubt traumatized because Biden allows unvetted illegal immigrants into the U.S. This tragedy was avoidable, but Democrats are too busy playing politics to care.
