Illegal alien involved in smuggling ring sentenced to 46 years in prison

President Joe Biden's crisis at the southern border continues to worsen to degrees we can't imagine.

However, justice was finally served in one case of a twice-deported illegal alien who was charged with human smuggling and illegal re-entry into the United States, Breitbart reported.

The outlet noted:

Senior U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence E. Kahn sentenced Ruben Altunar-Lopez, a/k/a “Hervin Lopez-Javier,” a 49-year-old Mexican national who was residing in Indiana, to 46 months in federal prison.

It wasn't the illegal alien's first experience with a U.S. prison, as he previously served a six-year stint in a Texas prison for his involvement in a cocaine smuggling ring.

A statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York indicated that Altunar-Lopez "pleaded guilty to illegal re-entry after removal following a felony conviction and transportation of aliens."

Breitbart added:

In addition to his previous conviction in Texas for cocaine smuggling, the U.S. District Court for the State of Arizona also convicted the Mexican national for illegal re-entry after removal with felony convictions. He is still serving a term of supervised release.

His most recent crimes, according to documents, took place in February of this year. In a statement, he admitted he picked up four illegal aliens in the Mooers, New York area and planned to transport them to various states across the country.

The smuggling incident in February took a nasty turn, as it resulted in federal agents pursuing him in a high-speed chase.

Chief Patrol Agent Robert N. Garcia, United States Border Patrol, Swanton Sector, posted an update on the sentencing on X.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York added additional sentencing information in its statement:

"At sentencing on November 30, Senior United States District Judge Lawrence E. Kahn also revoked Altunar-Lopez’s previously imposed term of supervised release and sentenced him to a 6-month term of imprisonment on his supervised release violations, to run consecutive to the 46-month term Altunar-Lopez received for new criminal conduct," the statement read.

Former President Donald Trump has warned, on several occasions, of the absolute disaster left at the southern U.S. border by the Biden administration.

Only recently has the Biden administration even remotely acknowledged that there's a serious problem, though it would never admit it was a result of their reversal of Trump's policies, which actually worked.
