Hunter Biden blasted after latest claim his father was not involved in business deals

Hunter Biden faced intense scrutiny on Wednesday following his testimony before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees, where he asserted that he had not involved his father, President Biden, in his business dealings.

The closed-door deposition was part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry into his father, prompting a swift reaction from critics who cast doubt on Hunter's claims.

The reactions

Among the detractors, Republican strategist Steve Guest highlighted what he perceived as a discrepancy in Joe Biden's previous statements regarding discussions with Hunter about business affairs.

Guest pointed to evidence suggesting Joe Biden's participation in Hunter's foreign business dealings, citing emails, texts, and witness testimony to support his stance.

Similarly, Federalist co-founder Sean Davis accused Hunter of potential perjury, implying confidence in avoiding repercussions due to perceived protection from the Department of Justice under his father's administration.

Washington Free Beacon reporter Chuck Ross underscored evidence indicating Hunter's involvement of Joe Biden in business matters, including reported meetings with executives from a Chinese energy firm.

Hunter's lack of credibility

Critics also questioned Hunter's credibility, with one individual sarcastically questioning the reliability of a "crackhead," referencing Hunter's past struggles with addiction.

Rep. Jason Smith accused Hunter of falsely denying his father's involvement, citing a purported text message allegedly sent by Hunter using his father's name for business purposes.

Despite Hunter's assertions, testimony from his former business associate Rob Walker suggested a meeting between Joe Biden and the chairman of a Chinese energy firm involved in a joint venture pursued by Hunter.

Records indicated numerous visits by Hunter's associates to the White House during Joe Biden's vice presidency, raising further questions about the extent of the Biden family's involvement in business affairs.

Archers role

Devon Archer, another ex-business partner of Hunter, described Joe Biden's role as "defensive leverage" in negotiations with foreign partners, contradicting statements made by the elder Biden.

Hunter defended his assertions during the deposition, denouncing previous witnesses' testimonies as lies and criticizing the handling of his communications records by House Republicans, attributing misunderstandings to taking information "out of context."

The exchanges underscored the contentious nature of the impeachment inquiry and heightened scrutiny surrounding the Biden family's business dealings.

With conflicting interpretations of the evidence and conflicting testimonies, the inquiry continued to fuel political polarization and debate over the Biden administration's integrity and transparency.
