In a move that aligns with broader national trends, Alamdar Hamdani, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas, has announced his resignation ahead of the impending change in administration.
Houston Public Media reported that this pivotal decision comes as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office as the 47th President of the United States.
Hamdani, a trailblazer as the first Asian American appointed to his prestigious position, has decided to step down on January 19, just one day before Trump's inauguration.

Expressing the honor of serving his district, Hamdani said, “Serving as the 24th Presidentially Appointed U.S. Attorney for this incredible district has been the honor of a lifetime.”
