Harris Claims She Won't Continue Biden's Policies After Claiming She Would Do Nothing Differently

Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate for president, addressed key policy issues and criticisms in a recent interview with Fox News.

Livemint reported that the vice president claimed that she would be running things differently signaling that her hypothetical presidency would not be simply a continuation of President Joe Biden's policies.

However, later in the interview on Wednesday, Harris claimed that she supported Biden's immigration policies, and would not have done anything differently despite the horrific consequences of the border crisis.

She claimed that it was Republicans who were responsible for the absence of progress on border security despite the fact that she and Biden dismantled Trump's border security policies as soon as they were sworn in.

Harris faced questions regarding the reversal of border policies enacted during Donald Trump's presidency. She was also asked to comment on congressional testimony by a mother who lost her daughter to an incident involving an undocumented immigrant.

Harris Clarifies Gender-Affirming Surgery Stance

Addressing another controversial subject, Harris reiterated her support for gender-affirming surgery for transgender inmates. This was a moment of vindication for Trump who has been attacking Harris for this position.

Significantly, Harris declared in the interview that her presidency would focus on introducing new ideas and solutions rather than continuing the exact course set by Biden. "Let me be very clear, my presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden's presidency," she asserted.

But she offered no explanation for what she would do differently and instead went back to attacking Trump.

She also criticized former President Trump for what she described as a lack of substantial solutions in his approach to immigration reform.

The Trump campaign labeled the interview as a "train wreck," suggesting that Harris's performance fell short. Nonetheless, Harris remained clearly focused on addressing the accusations against her and her campaign's messages.

Additionally, Harris noted her established support in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, a critical battleground where Republican registrations have recently surpassed Democratic ones. This focus on swing states highlights the strategic importance of such regions in the upcoming election.

Harris Discusses Election Integrity

In a pointed critique of Trump, Harris condemned attempts to overturn the 2020 election results. She underscored the significance of respecting the democratic process and accepting the outcomes of elections.

"He refused to accept the will of the people and the results of a free and fair election," Harris stated, referencing the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6. She further emphasized the need for leaders who uphold democratic values.

The Biden administration's dedication to gender-affirming policies remained another focal point during the interview. Harris affirmed her commitment to following laws related to funding such surgeries for inmates, saying, "I will follow the law."

"No matter your party, no matter who you voted for last time, there is a place for you in this campaign," she conveyed, emphasizing a unifying message amid a polarized political landscape.

Harris's interview answered no questions and raised more for centrist voters who are undecided. She claims she will be different from Biden but refuses to explain how and spent the entire interview attacking Trump instead of explaining her positions.
