Hamas terrorists target American aid workers in Gaza with grenades

Hamas terrorists lobbed grenades at American aid workers in Khan Younis, wounding two veterans in a brazen attack on Saturday morning. The assault targeted the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a group daring to bypass the United Nations’ faltering aid system. It’s a stark reminder of Hamas’ grip on Gaza, where even charity becomes a battlefield.

Breitbart reported that during food distribution in Khan Younis, two Hamas assailants hurled grenades packed with ball bearings at GHF’s site, injuring two American veterans.

This attack followed GHF’s milestone of delivering its one-millionth box of aid to Palestinians. The terrorists struck just as thousands of Gazans safely received food, exposing Hamas’ contempt for both aid efforts and their own people.

GHF, backed by the Trump administration, has provided 62 million free meals to Gaza residents, including 1.8 million on the day of the attack.

Unlike the UN, whose aid trucks often sit uncollected or are hijacked by Hamas, GHF operates independently. This success has made it a target for both Hamas and a UN bureaucracy that seems more interested in control than charity.

Hamas Targets Independent Aid Efforts

The grenade attack marked the second assault on GHF, but the first to harm Americans. No local aid workers or civilians were injured, a small mercy in an otherwise vile act. Hamas’ precision in targeting Americans suggests a calculated escalation, even as they negotiate a ceasefire with the U.S. and Israel.

Hamas has a history of attacking Palestinians who approach GHF aid sites, desperate for food the UN fails to deliver. The terrorists steal UN aid, sell it at a premium, and use the proceeds to fund their operations. It’s a grim cycle where Gazans suffer, and Hamas profits.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack, calling it a revelation of Hamas’ brutality. “The entire world needs to stand up and condemn the severe incident,” he said. Yet, the UN remains silent, perhaps too entangled with Hamas to speak.

Netanyahu also praised GHF’s work and thanked President Trump for supporting it. “The foundation employees are doing important work,” he said. His words cut through the fog of UN inaction, highlighting a rare success in Gaza’s aid landscape.

The UN’s opposition to GHF stems from its demand to monopolize aid distribution, a condition Hamas echoes in ceasefire talks. Some UN agency employees are suspected of being Hamas members, raising questions about collusion. This cozy relationship explains why UN aid often ends up in terrorist hands.

GHF’s statement detailed the attack’s specifics: “Two American veterans were injured in a targeted terrorist attack during food distribution activities at SDS-3 in Khan Younis.”

The grenades were thrown at the event’s conclusion, a cowardly move to disrupt without risking civilian casualties that might turn Gazans against Hamas. It’s a tactic as calculated as it is cruel.

Attack Amid Ceasefire Talks

“Preliminary information indicates two assailants who threw two grenades at the Americans,” GHF’s statement continued. The attack’s timing, during indirect ceasefire negotiations, suggests Hamas is flexing its muscle. They’re signaling that no one, not even American veterans, is safe from their reach.

Both the U.S. and Israel swiftly condemned the attack, with Netanyahu wishing the wounded a speedy recovery. “I would like to send my best wishes,” he said. His empathy contrasts sharply with Hamas’ callousness and the UN’s indifference.

The attack underscores a bitter truth: Hamas fears GHF’s success because it exposes their own failures. By providing aid directly to Gazans, GHF undermines Hamas’ control and the UN’s monopoly. It’s no wonder they’re targeted—nothing threatens a terrorist more than hope.

GHF’s model, free from UN red tape, has fed millions while Hamas and the UN bicker over power. The Trump administration’s support has been crucial, offering a lifeline where global bureaucracies have failed. This attack won’t deter GHF; it will only steel their resolve.

Netanyahu urged the UN to stop obstructing GHF and work together for Gaza’s residents. “The UN must stop opposing the activity of the aid foundation,” he said. His call is a challenge to a world that too often excuses Hamas’ crimes under the guise of diplomacy.

Saturday’s attack is a wake-up call: Hamas will stop at nothing to maintain its stranglehold on Gaza. GHF’s work, backed by American grit and Israeli support, offers a glimmer of hope in a region starved for it. The world must rally behind them, not the terrorists who’d rather throw grenades than bread.
