Haley wants ‘diminished’ Biden, Trump to take psychological tests

Nikki Haley, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, reacted to the report that Special Counsel Robert Hur has released regarding President Biden's handling of sensitive documents and lays down the current situation of her campaign on the show 'Hannity.'

A statement made by Nikki Haley, one of the only other candidates left in the Republican presidential running other than former President Donald Trump, has garnered media attention, as Fox News reported.

The former South Carolina governor suggested that President Biden and Trump should undergo mental acuity tests to ensure that the American people know what they're getting.

The Republican contender stated that her fellow candidates for the presidency ought to take the exams in order to demonstrate to the American people whether or not "they're at the top of their game."

She also stated that she would have "no problem" taking such a test herself. The remarks were made by Haley, who had previously served as a governor and as an ambassador to the United Nations, during an appearance on the CBS program "Face the Nation."

From the Interview

After making mental fitness a signature issue of the 2024 presidential election, she was asked when she planned to take a cognitive assessment. She responded that she was willing to do so, and then she turned the attention to her rivals.

"I have no problem taking it," Haley responded. "And what I've said is we need to have mental competency tests for anyone over the age of 75. I don't care if we do it for 50 and up."

According to Haley, the report that Special Counsel Robert Hur compiled on President Biden's improper handling of secret documents, as well as the mistakes that Biden made in the aftermath of the investigation, indicate that the president is "diminished." Haley made the suggestion that Trump had experienced memory problems similarly, although she did not provide any particular examples.

"But what happened with Joe Biden this week, and what we've seen with Donald Trump is another example of why we have to face the reality of the fact that when you get to those ages, you get diminished," she said.

"These are people making decisions on our national security. These are people making decisions on the future of our economy. We need to know they're at the top of their game."

The Men's Statuses

Aside from Trump, who is 77 years old, President Joe Biden is the oldest sitting president in the United States.

During conversations with investigators, Biden was unable to recall significant aspects of his own life, such as the time he served as vice president, according to the report that was published by Hur on Thursday.

In light of the fact that the investigators considered Biden to be a "well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," they suggested that the president not be charged with any criminal offenses.
