Former New York City Mayor and ex-Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani was sentenced to pay $148 million to two election workers in Georgia on Friday.
The massive sum caused joyful reactions by the two workers while Giuliani promised to appeal the decision.

"The eight-person jury awarded Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, the sum after a four-day trial, during which they testified that Giuliani’s lies in support of former President Donald Trump’s bogus stolen-election claims subjected them to a torrent of racist and violent threats and turned their lives upside down," NBC News reported.
“Today’s a good day. A jury stood witness to what Rudy Giuliani did to me and my daughter and held him accountable and for that I’m thankful,” Freeman said.

“This woman conducted an abomination of a trial… the amount is punitive, malicious, and absurd… What I said and what I revealed about Joe Biden and his criminality, about the hard drive, about election fraud, was 100% true," Giuliani responded in a video.
"If they wanna put me in jail for it, if they wanna shoot me for it, whatever you wanna do to me, you’re not gonna get me to lie," he continued.

The case may not end for some time depending on the time before the appeal is heard.
In addition to this case, Giuliani is part of the Trump trial in Georgia that involved over a dozen co-defendants.
The case comes as Trump seeks a comeback bid in 2024 that could lead to a rematch with President Joe Biden next year.
