Gabbard announced third referral over administration leaks

Every presidential administration faces leaks, but they are particularly damning for the Trump administration because of the slant in the media.

Top officials vowed to find them and plug them, and nobody has been fiercer on this front than Tulsi Gabbard, who just announced another criminal referral.

Round 1

Not long after taking her post, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced that she had tracked down several leaks that were taking place in the administration.

While most leakers are treated with kid gloves, this administration is throwing the book at them.

Gabbard stated, “Politically motivated leaks undermine our national security and the trust of the American people and will not be tolerated.

“Unfortunately, such leaks have become commonplace with no investigation or accountability. That ends now. We know of and are aggressively pursuing recent leakers from within the Intelligence Community and will hold them accountable.”

Pentagon Leaks

While Gabbard and the heads of other agencies were trying to plug leaks, Defense Secretary Hegseth and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz handed the media a leak on a silver platter.

Waltz apparently added a journalist for The Atlantic to a group chat on Signal regarding an attack against the Houthis.

This was a double hit because there were questions as to why Waltz would even have the reporter’s number, as well as why Hegseth was talking about information that appeared to be classified on a chat app.

On top of that, the Pentagon was also dealing with leaks, with three top staffers and allies of Hegseth’s being terminated last week over their alleged role in the leaks.

Round 2

Earlier this week, Gabbard announced that she had made yet another referral to the Department of Justice for a staffer who had allegedly leaked information to the media.

Gabbard stated, "Politicization of our intelligence and leaking classified information puts our nation’s security at risk and must end. Those who leak classified information will be found and held accountable to the fullest extent of the law."

"Today, I referred two intelligence community leakers to the Department of Justice for criminal referral, with a third criminal referral on its way, which includes the recent illegal leak to the Washington Post. These deep-state criminals leaked classified information for partisan political purposes to undermine President Trump's agenda."

As I stated in a previous report, I am all for this. Leaks make for great stories, but they can also put our national security at risk, not to mention endangering operatives in the field. These holes need to be plugged ASAP.
