Frank Wychek, former Tennessee Titans tight end, dies at 52

The world of professional football was devastated over the weekend to learn of the passing of one of it's greats.

According to Breitbart, Frank Wychek, a former Tennessee Titans tight end known as the "Music City Miracle," passed away at age 52 on Saturday.

The family confirmed the legend's passing in a statement.

The circumstances surrounding his unfortunate passing were also revealed. The former player reportedly fell in his home and was later found unresponsive.

"At this time, it appears Frank Wycheck fell inside his Chattanooga, TN home and hit his head on Saturday morning," said a statement posted on paulkuharsky.com.

"He was found unresponsive that afternoon. Wycheck moved to Chattanooga, TN, this past summer to be closer to his family. He leaves behind two adult daughters, Deanna and Madison, both married, and three grandchildren – Leo, Stevie, and August," the statement added.

While he played in the National Football League for many years, Wychek is undoubtedly known for the "miracle" play that took the Titans to their first and only Super Bowl appearance in 2000.

Given his legendary status, Wycheck gained fans worldwide, and many of them, including current and former players, paid tribute to the former tight end on social media.

"I am a Dolphins fan but live in Tennessee. Have went to a bunch of Titans games. Frank was awesome. Did a ton for the community. Great football player, better human being. Prayers for the family. Frank will be missed!!!!!!!" an X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "So sorry for your loss Wycheck family. Rest in Peace Frank."

Clearly, Wycheck left an indelible mark on his actions while playing the game and outside of the game, and will always be remembered fondly for both.
