Fox News already dominates the cable news ratings, but it has been branching out to streaming and podcasts.
It has had considerable success in these ventures, and the latest announcement is likely to only increase Fox News’ dominance.
Fox News has reportedly just signed a deal that will bring the “Ruthless” podcast under its umbrella.
“Ruthless” is hosted by Josh Holmes, Comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan, and John Ashbrook and has become a monster in the podcast world.
The content makes perfect sense for Fox News to bring into its family, and this deal will surely continue to help Fox News dominate other media demographics than just cable news.
FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott stated, "The FOX News Media ecosystem we have built over the past seven years continues to thrive and set new records, and the ‘Ruthless’ deal is a natural extension of our powerhouse brand as audiences reshape how they consume quality content.
"We have cultivated an unrivaled bench of successful personalities who are well-positioned to excel in today’s evolving media landscape, where podcasting offers the kind of deep engagement our platforms are known for."
The new podcast will fall under the purview of Fox News Digital President and Editor-in-Chief Porter Berry.
Berry stated, "I am honored to step into the New Media role and advance Suzanne’s bold vision across digital, social, and podcasting.
"As the creator economy continues to evolve — a spirit that 'Ruthless' has championed from the start — we are expanding our reach to meet audiences wherever they engage with FOX News Media content, which remains in a league of its own."
The hosts of the podcast were also excited about joining Fox News’ family, especially since so many of the high-profile members of the Fox News team are avid listeners of the podcast.
“Ruthless” was founded in the middle of the COVID pandemic and the death of Justice Ginsburg, so they were able to hit the ground running, and they have never looked back.
In the nearly five years the show has been on air, it has continued to gain followers and popularity.
The podcast is #1 on Apple Politics, #2 on Apple News, and ranked an impressive #12 overall on Apple, so this is a huge deal.
They have made talking politics fun again, which is why I really like the show, and will continue to follow them. My guess is that overall ranking will soar once "Ruthless" gets the Fox News juice behind it.
