Former Special Counsel Robert Hur grilled by Dems and GOP during Biden documents hearing

Former Special Counsel Robert Hur testified in front of Congress Tuesday regarding President Joe Biden's classified documents probe.

Hur was intensely questioned by members of Congress, according to Fox News. Democrats attempted to use the hearing to push a narrative that Biden had been "exonerated" by his final report.

According to Hur, that was a false assertion, to say the least.

The former special counsel also had to contend with Republicans, who relentlessly questioned him as to why he felt the need to pass on indicting Biden for alleged crimes similar to what former President Donald Trump is accused of committing.

Not exonerated

Many of the Democrats in attendance for the hearing seemingly attempted to pressure Hur into saying that his final report was a type of "exoneration" of Biden's classified documents probe.

Hur made it clear that his investigation didn't exonerate Biden, adding that the investigation proved that Biden had kept secret and classified documents in his possession after leaving the White House, with many of them kept in unsecured locations.

Hur was taken to task in the wake of the release of the initial report as he essentially concluded that Biden broke the law, but didn't recommend charges based on his "poor memory" and the notion that a jury wouldn't convict a forgetful, elderly man.

"My assessment in the report about the relevance of the president's memory was necessary and accurate and fair," Hur said. "I did not sanitize my explanation. Nor did I disparage the president unfairly. I explained to the attorney general my decision and the reasons for it. That's what I was required to do.

Many believe Hur's testimony and the resulting transcript of his interviews with Biden that were made public this week prove that Biden lied, repeatedly, about his interaction with the classified documents.

Big lies told

Earlier this year, Biden addressed the classified documents investigation by insisting that he never shared classified material with his ghostwriter.

This week, that was proven beyond false according to Hur's report. Many social media users pointed that out.

One X user wrote, "When did Joe ever tell a truth? Just impeach the guy already If he is a Republican, Democrats would impeach him 100 times already."
