Fox News reports that a former staff member of the administration of former President Barack Obama has just exposed a "kickback scheme" involving President Joe Biden.
The whistleblower is Mike McCormick, a former White House stenographer of 15 years. McCormick specifically worked with Joe Biden from 2011 to 2017, which spans most of Biden's stint as vice president.
McCormick now alleges that Biden "is a criminal."
McCormick recently revealed to Fox, during an appearance on Fox & Friends:
In February, I went to the FBI and filed one of their tips on their website. If you do that, and you're lying to them, you go to jail. I'm not lying. I'm telling the truth, and I'm not going to jail. Joe Biden is a criminal. He was conducting malfeasance in office to enrich his family. Jake Sullivan [the current national security advisor] is a conspirator in that, and there's more... Obama officials involved in it, I believe.
The allegation - that Biden used his position in the U.S. government for his own and his family's profit - is not a new one. Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives are investigating such matters.
The question, though, is what evidence McCormick has to support his contention. McCormick is now calling attention to an incident that he alleges took place when then-vice president Biden visited Ukraine in an effort to bolster the country's energy industry.
Before going any further, it is necessary to point out that this trip to Ukraine occurred in 2014 just after Biden's son - Hunter Biden - joined the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma despite seemingly having no real qualifications to do so - other than having a father who happened to be the U.S. vice president. The public would not be made aware of Hunter's joining the Burisma board until May.
It's also worth noting that, after the trip, Congress gave $50 million to Ukraine for energy.
McCormick, to Fox, recalled a conversation that he had with Sullivan - aboard Air Force Two - before Biden's April 2014 trip to Ukraine. McCormick recalled:
I'm sitting back there with a tape recorder. Jake Sullivan comes back and somebody asks about fracking. His answer is, well, we're bringing a lot of American assistance over for fracking. Burisma was the direct beneficiary of that fracking, and that's what I recorded, and that's in a White House transcript.
In the transcript, you don't know who Jake Sullivan is. It's a senior administration official. I'm the witness that says Jake Sullivan is the guy who said it and he should be investigated because at the time Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma and Joe Biden is bringing American taxpayer money to enrich that company and himself and his family.
McCormick went on to argue that the information that he has incriminates Biden and that Obama, himself, is "part of the conspiracy."
This is certainly a story to keep an eye on. The White House has yet to respond to McCormick's allegations.
