Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has made public an FBI document that points to alleged bribes President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden received from Burisma Holdings, Breitbart reported. Each received $5 million from Mykola Zlochevsk, the founder of the Ukrainian energy company.
A confidential human source disclosed that Zlochevsky paid the bribes in exchange for Joe Biden's help in firing the prosecutor who was investigating corruption at Burisma. At the time, Hunter Biden sat on the board and Joe Biden was vice president.
Zlochevsky admitted that Hunter Biden was "stupid" and knew nothing about the business. However, he also knew that Joe Biden was useful. Under threat of withholding American aid, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko indeed fired the prosecutor and Joe Biden later bragged about his role in it.
"I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money," Joe Biden recalled in 2018.
"Well, son of a bitch. He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time," he added.
This fact is also corroborated in FBI form FD-1023, which Grassley made public through a whistleblower loophole Thursday. Previously, the document was made available to lawmakers for viewing but not made public.
Had it not been for House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY), who strongarmed the agency into disclosing the information in the first place, it's possible the document would not have seen the light of day outside of the FBI at all. Now, Republicans could have what they need to impeach the president and many have publicly called for just that, Fox News reported.
"Read and understand just how deep the corruption goes. Biden should be thrown out of office. Impeach," Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) tweeted.
"Is this why Biden has America involved in the war in Ukraine??? Joe Biden is a criminal and is compromised!" Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) charged on Twitter.
"And he is leading us into WW3 [because Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy has proof of more Biden crimes," Greene added. "Republicans can no longer delay, but we need 218 Republican votes to do it."
"I’ve been there since day one and so are the American people. IMPEACH BIDEN!!!" Greene concluded.
"This is damning evidence that Biden is compromised. Remember when Democrats and their pals in the media went as far as to question whether this document even exists?" Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX) pointed out.
"Most corrupt family to ever live in the White House! Impeach!" Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) tweeted.
There's no doubt this kind of corruption calls for Biden to be removed from office. However, it also raises important questions about America's ongoing involvement in the war in Ukraine and how that ties together with this alleged scheme.
