Former President Donald Trump and his lawyers are ready to pounce after a massive bombshell regarding DA Fani Willis emerged last week.
Willis was accused of having an inappropriate financial and romantic relationship with prosecutor Nathan Wade, who she placed in charge of prosecuting former President Donald Trump.
She responded to the accusations, finally, in a 176-page filing, in which she admitted to having the relationship.
Willis responded by stating "any personal relationship among members of the prosecution team does not amount to a disqualifying conflict of interest or otherwise harm a criminal defendant."
In other words, Willis doesn't believe that her relationship with Wade should have any bearing on her case against Trump, though many still strongly disagree.
These people never cease to amaze me. @MSNBC legal analyst Charles Coleman (@CFColemanJr) claims Fani Willis admitting she's dating Nathan Wade, prosecuting Trump, may have little impact on the jury because it was well known in Fulton County. WATCHpic.twitter.com/2kn63SO5Gj

In her statement, she doubled down in her insistence that her relationship with Wade has no bearing on the case against the former president.
"Defendants have done nothing to establish an actual conflict of interest, nor have they shown that, in the handling of the case, District Attorney Willis or Special Prosecutor Wade have acted out of any personal or financial motivation," the statement said.
It added, "To be absolutely clear, the personal relationship between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis has never involved direct or indirect financial benefit to District Attorney Willis."
For his part, Wade denied that the lavish trips he booked after reportedly being overpaid by Willis were of any significance.
Given the egregiously inappropriate relationship between Willis and Wade, Trump and his lawyers have already pushed for Willis' case to be thrown out.
Trump has issued several statements on his Truth Social platform.
"Fani Willis and her 'Lover' perpetrated a conspiracy to Make Money, CHEAT & Interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024. This case is a Hoax, just like Russia, Russia, Russia (and all of the rest!), and everybody in America knows it," Trump wrote.
He added, "Many innocent people have been seriously hurt by the 'Injustice' Department, working with State and local lowlifes, to break the law. These corrupt cases must be unraveled and ended, NOW!!!"
