"Will and Grace" star Erick McCormack and director Janet Leigh are splitting up after 26 years of marriage.
The news was shared in a published report by People based on court records noting Leigh's filing for divorce.

"Janet, who filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences," is seeking spousal support and is requesting the court end Eric's ability to receive spousal support," People reported.
"She did not list a date of separation in the divorce filing, which was entered a day before Thanksgiving in Los Angeles County Superior Court. TMZ was first to report the news," it added.

"I met my wife, Janet, in 1994 on the set of a TV series. She was the assistant director. I was just coming out of a relationship, and not to be trusted," McCormick wrote of their relationship. "I'd been dating actresses but Janet was different. She wore jeans, drove a pick-up truck."
He continued, "At first she wasn't too keen. She knew actors are a lot of work: it would be like taking your work home with you. But I managed to convince her."

"Janet—who shares 21-year-old son Finnigan with the actor—is seeking spousal support and asking to terminate the court's ability to award Eric the same," Entertainment News reported.
"Though their love story doesn't have a Hollywood ending, it certainly had that beginning as they met on the set of Lonesome Dove: The Series in 1994," it noted.
McCormack is currently involved in the musical "Wild About You," promoting his star role that will take place at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in March 2024. The musical is based on the book by Eric Holmes and features music and lyrics by Chilina Kennedy.
Neither McCormack nor Leigh have yet publicly addressed the split, leaving speculation for those on the outside over what led to the divorce filing after more than two decades of marriage.
