Elise Stefanik demands ethics probe into Judge Beryl Howell who is overseeing Trump's January 6th case

Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) has filed a judiciary complaint against the judge overseeing former President Donald Trump's January 6th trial.

Stefanik's complaint alleges that D.C. Circuit Court Judge Beryl Howell engaged in "highly inappropriate political speech," stemming from remarks made at the Women's White Collar Defense Gala.

Howell stated during the Gala that, "My D.C. judicial colleagues and I regularly see the impact of big lies at the sentencing of hundreds, hundreds of individuals who have been convicted for offense conduct on Jan. 6, 2021, when they disrupted the certification of the 2020 presidential election at the U.S. Capitol."

Howell also alleged that the riot occurred because of "big lies," which demonstrates her beliefs about former president Donald Trump's role in the whole affair.

Stefanik believes that Howell is not suitable to preside over such a political case that she has already made her views public on. She believes Howell needs to be replaced and needs to be reprimanded for her remarks that compromised her ability to be an impartial judge.

No fair trial

As Howell herself stated, she believes that the protestors on January 6th "disrupted" the certification of the 2020 presidential election and that they were motivated by "big lies."

So where did those lies come from? Well there is only one answer to that question. Howell must surely already have come to the conclusion that Donald Trump lied to the American people and directly caused the disruption of the certification process.

This already makes it clear that she has no ability to be an impartial judge and should not be anywhere near a case involving either Trump or those who protested at the Capital on January 6th.

Howell has been involved in Special Counsel Jack Smith's federal indictment of Trump which raises further questions about how impartial she can really be.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Howell has also been involved in the infamous Mueller probe that sought, and failed, to prove allegations that Trump had worked with Russia to steal the 2016 presidential election from Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Howell has a long history of being involved in legal efforts against Trump and has no place in a court room overseeing a case against Trump. The question is will Stefanik's motion see any success?

Endless siege

Donald Trump has been under legal siege since he won the 2016 presidential election and changed the course of American history forever.

Democrats accused him of colluding with Russia in order to win the election. Ironic because four years later they would accuse him of subverting Democracy by questioning the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

At some point, someone needs to stand up and say "Enough!" Stefanik believes that she is that person and is going to war with liberal judges who want to insert their politics into impartial legal proceedings.
