Mary Trump, the niece of former President Donald Trump, has publically claimed that her uncle is dealing with mental health issues.
Breitbart reported that in a recent interview on MSNBC, Mary Trump claimed that the former president was suffering from severe and longstanding psychiatric disorders, which she believes have deteriorated over time.
Mary Trump appeared on "Inside" with host Jen Psaki to discuss the former president’s psychological state.
Throughout the interview, it became clear that Mary Trump was engaged in more speculative slander disguised as concern for an older family member.
According to Mary, there has been a noticeable decline in Donald Trump’s cognitive abilities. She presented no proof of these claims outside her own words but it's no surprise that Psaki didn't push for proof.
Mary Trump suggested that his severe psychiatric conditions have gone untreated for years, leading to their exacerbation. "Donald is as bad as he’s always been. This is somebody who’s never evolved," she said during the interview.
"In terms of his functioning on a cognitive level, absolutely, there’s been deterioration," Mary added. Once again at no point did she provide any substantiative evidence that her uncle is actually suffering psychological issues.
Mary Trump has been on the warpath against the rest of the family for years due to rumored internal disputes and she is leveraging that conflict to gain national recognition. Considering this, Mary Trump's speculative assertions are entirely bad faith.
Jen Psaki questioned Mary about her long-term observations of Donald Trump, particularly in light of his recent puzzling responses to basic questions about everyday costs. "His answers don’t really make sense," Psaki noted, probing whether this was a longstanding issue or a recent development.
Mary confirmed that while Donald Trump's inability to articulate well isn't new, there has been a marked decline. "I think he’s being pushed further and further because of Vice President Harris’ success, because of his own failures, into a world that is more delusional," she said.
