Donald Trump stops by local Florida pizza joint, buys everyone a slice

Former President Donald Trump, in the wake of his sham indictment, is making all of the right moves for someone who wants to win the Republican nomination in 2024.

His latest round of positive press came after he gave a speech last week at the Lee County Republican Party’s Lincoln Reagan Dinner in Fort Meyers, Florida.

According to Breitbart, the 45th president stopped at a local pizza joint on the way out and bought everyone pizza, including local first responders, generating heaps of praise from local media outlets and across social media.

"After speaking at a GOP fundraiser in Fort Myers, former President Donald Trump stopped to grab some pizza at D-Hop in Fort Myers. It’s a popular spot downtown 🍕 Workers say they only had about 45 min notice before he (and this big crowd) showed up!" NBC2's Kyla Gaer tweeted.

Multiple videos of the former president and 2024 Republican candidate surfaced across social media. At one point, workers and customers broke out into "USA, USA, USA!" chants.

Trump, as he often does, took plenty of time to shake hands and acknowledge the regular folks, which goes a long way in connecting with voters.

"Enjoy the pizza," the former president said, as he purchased a round of slices for the house.

Further dividing himself from the elite class, Trump joked about politicians having their careers tarnished by eating pizza with a fork. He assured those around him that he's old school and eats it with his hands, like most Americans do.

The positive press is especially notable given that Trump continues to score increasing support and high-profile endorsements in the home state of his potential top GOP primary rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The owner of the pizza shop was thrilled, understandably, as he was able to sell out of pizza that night.

Trump is looking more presidential by the day, but the 2024 race is still a ways out. Anything can happen between now and then, but it's undeniable that he's gaining valuable momentum.
