Donald Trump Jr. testifies in fraud trial, confirms he never handled financial statements

Donald Trump Jr., the son of former President Donald Trump, testified on Wednesday that he never handled the family business financial statements.

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) brought a case against Trump and his top executives, which includes his two sons, that they conspired to exaggerate his wealth in financial statements.

Trump Jr. has been a key figure for his father as he served as the executive vice president of the Trump Organization and handled much of the company during his father's presidency.

James is out to prove that the Trump family committed financial fraud but Trump Jr. made it clear in his testimony that he never misled insurers and banks about the family business's wealth.

Many see the trial as a blatant political hit job on the Trump family and the political affiliations of both James and overseeing Judge Author Engoron only add weight to that suspicion.

Witch hunt

Like the other legal investigations against Donald Trump, this fraud case has all the signs of a political witch hunt.

The Associated Press reported that Trump Jr. testified "At least one of the annual financial statements bore language saying the trustees “are responsible” for the document. But Donald Trump Jr. said he didn’t recall ever working on any of the financial statements and had “no specific knowledge” of them. Trump Jr. said he signed off on statements as a trustee, but had left the work to outside accountants and the company’s then-finance chief, Allen Weisselberg."

Trump Jr. further added that, "I wasn’t working on the document, but if they tell me that it’s accurate, based on their accounting assessment of all of the materials, these people had an incredible intimate knowledge, and I relied on it."

Judge Engoron has already ruled that Trump's finances were fraudulent and that a court-appointed receiver seize some of Trump's companies, raising the possibility that the state could seize Trump Tower in Manhattan.

However, an appeals court stepped in and put an stop to Engoron's madness at least while the case is litigated.

Election interference

The efforts by Democrat District Attorney's to prosecute the leading Republican candidate are a naked attempt to interfere in next year's election and give President Joe Biden an advantage.

Donald Trump went from left for dead following the 2020 presidential election to leading President Biden in key swing states with a year to go before the election.

President Biden has done an abysmal job and Democrats know that the only way he can win is if Trump can be stopped using the power of the Department of Justice.

Despite all of that, Trump only seems to be growing stronger and Democrats are beginning to panic.
