Former President Donald Trump praised Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for releasing the security footage of the Capitol from January 6th.
The Committee on House Administration is set to publish all 44,000 hours of footage from the day of the protest and Democrats are absolutely losing it.
Trump took to Truth Social to say, "Congratulations to Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson for having the Courage and Fortitude to release all of the J6 Tapes, which will explicitly reveal what really happened on January 6th!"
Trump has been working to get the footage of the protest released for years but until Republicans took the House of Representatives, there was no hope of the tapes seeing the light of day.
Unfortunately, even when Republicans took control of the House there was a lot of knuckle dragging and hesitation. Thankfully, Speaker Johnson finally pulled the trigger and it could change everything.
Americans have had to rely on first hand accounts, usually from biased sources, for information on what really happened during one of the most polarizing moments in modern American history.
Speaker Johnson issued a statement saying, "This decision will provide millions of Americans, criminal defendants, public interest organizations, and the media an ability to see for themselves what happened that day, rather than having to rely upon the interpretation of a small group of government officials."
However, Speaker Johnson added that a small amount of footage was redacted for security purposes and extensive efforts were taken to protect the identities of many people who were there.
This is a massive victory for Trump and his allies like Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) who has spent the past three years arguing for the tapes to be released.
Greene said, "We need to release the J6 tapes to a public on line source so that everyone knows what did and didn’t happen, we need to restore fair justice, and America can move on."
Democrats are not interested in moving beyond J6 as they have built up a massive political narrative around the event. The J6 "insurrection" is the greatest political weapon that the left has against Trump.
So now that the tapes are being released and Americans are seeing that Democrats and the mainstream media lied to them for three years, there is a lot of outrage.
Democrats claim that protestors entered the Capitol "illegally and violently," but the tapes show that reality is much more complex.
One way or another, the release of the tapes will vindicate Donald Trump and could completely undermine the work Democrats have done to try and prosecute Trump for insurrection.
