DNC Chair growing frustrated with David Hogg

The Democrat Party thought it had a coup when it recruited David Hogg as the vice chair of the Democrat National Committee, but it appears to be a decision it is now regretting.

Now the DNC chair says Hogg is making it nearly impossible to lead the party.

Hogg Wake-up Call

Hogg never hid his intent of removing members of Congress who were no longer doing their jobs.

He was forced to defend his position, stating, “There’s a lot of people out there who want to make this all about age and say that we’re just targeting people because they’re above a certain age or something like that — that could not be further from the truth.

“There are older people who are great; there are young people who suck. Unfortunately, it’s not like you just get above a certain age and you start being terrible. It’s a lot more nuanced than that.”

He added, “The people that we are challenging, it’s not like it’s just because they’re above a certain age that we’re going to be challenging them. It’s about effectiveness and being able to meet this moment.”

Hogg Rebuked

When Hogg revealed his plan to have these Democrats removed, DNC Chair Ken Martin went nuclear, calling out Hogg over his plan to waste funds during the primary races.

He stated, “If you want to challenge incumbents, you’re more than free to do that, but just not as an officer of the DNC, because our job is to be neutral arbiters.

“We can’t be both the referee and also the player at the same time. You have to make a decision.”

Jane Kleeb, the Nebraska Democratic party chair and president of the Association of State Democratic Committees, added, “We hope that he realizes that he got elected to be an officer of the DNC, which means that we remain neutral.”

Hogg Making It Impossible

Typically, it is the chair of the party who everyone knows, not the vice chair, but that is not the case here, and it is getting to Martin, according to leaked audio.

Martin stated, “I’ll be very honest with you: For the first time in my 100 days on this job, the other night I said to myself for the first time, ‘I don’t know if I wanna do this anymore.’

“No one knows who the hell I am, right? I’m trying to get my sea legs underneath of me and actually develop any amount of credibility so I can go out there and raise the money and do the job I need to put ourselves in a position to win.”

He even directly addressed Hogg during the meeting, telling him how frustrating his actions have been in terms of Martin being able to get traction. This is now sounding like a “Him or Me” scenario, and if leadership cannot get on the same page soon, one of them will have to go.
