Over the course of Trump’s second presidency, we have seen some very selective reporting by the media on the immigration front. That would include a report that was recently made about the arrest of an illegal immigrant in the Bay Area, painting a picture of an innocent family man who was ripped from his family for no reason by ICE agents.
Well, DHS just had a little something to say about that.
After the arrest was made, videos were blowing up online about the arrest and how the man had been arrested in front of his family, drug away by agents.
NBC Bay Area reported, “The family told NBC Bay Area federal agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested an undocumented father outside his home, identified as 42-year-old Gerardo, as the family and neighbors took video.”
The report continued, “According to the family’s Ring video, Gerardo was in his black truck at 7:45 a.m., about to head out to his construction job when multiple people, who appear to be federal officers, approached his truck and yelled for him to get out.”
If you read the full report, there is absolutely nothing about the criminal history of the man in question.
DHS fired right back, stating, "Of course @NBCNews refuses to tell the American public that this illegal alien from Mexico has a rap sheet that includes: lewd and lascivious acts with a CHILD, battery of a spouse, domestic battery, compensation for prostitution, felony reentry after removal.”
DHS further stated, "Rojas-Leyva’s criminal history includes lewd and lascivious acts with child of 14-15 years old, battery of a spouse, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant, and proving compensation for prostitution.
“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, if you break the law, you will face the consequences. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S."
This is far from the first time the media has done selective reporting on this type of story, as we all know the saga of Kilmar Abrego Garcia by now.
The media initially tried to mislead people by calling him a “Maryland man,” rather than an illegal immigrant.
As the story progressed, it was alleged that he had gang and cartel ties, as well as being accused of working in a human trafficking ring.
That, however, has not stopped activist judges from blocking the Trump administration every step of the way, as Trump has had some hard luck in the draw when it comes to this case. Personally, I cannot wait for this case to find its way into the courtroom so the government can present its evidence and put this to rest once and for all.
