Last week, it was reported that a group of Democrats stormed an ICE facility in New Jersey, with several arrests reportedly made.
Now, the Department of Homeland Security is saying that more arrests may come from the incident.
Reps. Rob Menendez Jr. (D-N.J.), Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-N.J.), and LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) were part of a group that stormed an ICE facility on Friday.
The location is where ICE has been holding some of the worst of the worst in terms of illegal immigrants in this country.
The mayor of Newark, NJ, Ras Baraka, was arrested in what Democrats were calling an “oversight visit.”
White House spokesman Kush Desai responded to the incident, stating, "As always, Democrats are prioritizing the welfare of illegal aliens over American citizens - except now they're crossing the line between meaningless political street theatre and outright breaking the law.”
Baraka, who is also running for governor in New Jersey, was clearly using this as a political stunt. After he was released, he stated, “We know we’re right. What we ask for is correct.
“We ask them to obey our laws. To obey the policies and rules here in the city and state of New Jersey. And not to run roughshod over the Constitution of the United States, the Bill of Rights, the Fourth, Fifth, the 14th Amendments. Everyone on this soil deserves due process.”
Baraka has vowed to close this ICE holding facility, as Democrats are once again more concerned with people who break our laws and enter this country illegally than they are with law-abiding Americans.
New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani supported Baraka, stating, “We have been living in a city where we’ve been told by our mayor that the only way to deal with the Trump administration is through either collaboration or cowardice. And what we’ve seen from Mayor Baraka is this statement that he has lived up to, which is that you cannot meet extremism with moderation. We are seeing a complete disregard for the rule of law from this Trump administration and a desire to throw any dissidents into jail, seemingly at any opportunity.”
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is now saying that there could be more arrests related to the incident.
DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin stated, “There were multiple people arrested, and Victor, I think that we should let viewers know there will likely be more arrests coming.
“We actually have body camera footage of some of these members of Congress assaulting our ICE enforcement officers, including body slamming a female ICE officer, so we will be showing that to viewers very shortly.”
Democrats have denied anyone was body slammed, stating that ICE initiated the confrontation and any footage of a Democrat doing such an act is fake. Funny… if Republicans were to do something like this, it would be considered an insurrection, but Democrats can do it, and they are sticking up for the little people.
