Desperate Democrats Urge Probe Into Jared Kushner's Saudi Deals After Years Of Ignoring Hunter Biden

Amid rising concerns over foreign influence in U.S. politics, Democratic leaders have initiated a call for the Justice Department to investigate Jared Kushner's ties to Saudi Arabia.

Town Hall reported that Senators Ron Wyden and Representative Jamie Raskin have emphasized the need for a special counsel to scrutinize Jared Kushner for potential breaches of the Foreign Agents Registration Act due to his undisclosed financial engagements with Saudi Arabia.

This call for investigation was formally presented in a letter addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland, which was dispatched last Thursday by Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden of Oregon and Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland.

These allegations pertain to Kushner's alleged roles that intertwine governmental consultancy with financial gains from the Middle East, notably Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar.

Democrats like Wyden and Raskin have been ignoring Hunter Biden's corrupt business deals for years but now are suddenly concerned about Kushner's ties to Saudi Arabia.

Potential Conflict of Interest Highlighted by Democrats

The letter from both lawmakers articulates concerns over Kushner's simultaneous roles as a political consultant to former President Donald Trump and a private advisor to foreign entities, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The letter alleges that Kushner, while engaging in conclusive political activities, did not disclose the financial benefits he received, purportedly violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

The assertion by the Democrats underscores the unprecedented scale of these non-disclosed financial relationships. "Despite being engaged in plainly political activities, Mr. Kushner has not made [FARA] disclosures to DOJ related to the millions of dollars he receives annually by entities owned and controlled by the governments of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar," the lawmakers explained in the letter.

Kushner's financial involvement has drawn scrutiny due to potential national security implications. The Democrats argue that Kushner's actions appear to be an attempt "to sell political influence to the highest foreign bidder."

This concern has led to their push for the appointment of a special counsel to explore whether Kushner's activities influenced U.S. policy without proper disclosures.

In response to these allegations, a spokesperson for Kushner rebuffed claims of any wrongdoing, attesting to the legality and regulation compliance of Kushner’s business operations. According to the spokesperson, Kushner leads an SEC-registered fund that fulfills all requisite legal stipulations.

Alluding to the upcoming election, Kushner's representative also depicted the Democrats' request as politically motivated. "The move by Wyden and Raskin is described as a desperate attempt by partisan Democrats to manufacture an issue where none exists 12 days before an election," the spokesperson told Politico.

Seeking Scrutiny Amidst Political Tensions

The request from Democratic lawmakers arrives at a time when political sensitivities are especially heightened, only weeks away from significant national elections. The decision to seek a special counsel reflects the gravity with which these issues are being considered within the legislative corridors.

Should the Justice Department heed this call, a thorough investigation into Kushner's affairs could have wide-ranging implications for transparency and foreign policy regulation, potentially setting a precedent for how similar cases are handled in the future.

The outcome of this request, and any potential investigation, depends on the discretion of the Justice Department, which has yet to issue a formal response to the letter from Wyden and Raskin.
