This weekend, Donald Trump and his administration managed to keep a strike against Iran hidden until the bombs hit the target, unheard of in this day and age.
That attack, while successful, has set Dems into a rage, or at least most of them.
When Barack Obama was in office, tens of thousands of bombs were dropped without congressional approval, but most Democrats just sat on their hands, and nobody was talking about impeaching him.
In 2016 alone, more than 26,000 bombs were dropped, with most of those bombs targeting Iraq and Syria.
Obama took out more than his fair share of innocents too, with one strike hitting a wedding party that was mistakenly identified as enemy combatants. But again, nary a word from most Democrats.
The Obama administration claimed it had “only” killed 116 civilians in 2016, a figure most outlets pushed back against, saying it was far lower than the actual kill number, with the London-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism saying the number was likely closer to 800.
Democrats were sent into a tailspin after the attack, with multiple messages coming from the party, again showing no leadership, or at least nobody paying attention to leadership.
AOC, for example, is calling for Trump’s impeachment, stating, “The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”
Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) supported the attack, stating, “As I’ve long maintained, this was the correct move. Iran is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism and cannot have nuclear capabilities. I’m grateful for and salute the finest military in the world.”
Reps. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) and Jared Moskowitz (D-N.J.) destroyed the unconstitutional attack, with Torres stating, “Presidents of both parties have unilaterally undertaken major military operations without Congressional authorization. If there is a serious effort to reclaim those powers, I would vote for it.”
A voice of reason came out of the Democrat Party from a source I never expected... a former Hillary Clinton adviser.
Former Democratic Party advisor Dan Turrentine blasted the outrage by Democrats, stating, "It was too depressing to write this last night, after we got off air, so I went to bed. But, it needs to be said by more Democrats: this was not an impeachable offense, and Trump did not need congressional approval for one precision attack under the circumstances, just as Obama did not when striking Bin Laden.”
He concluded his lengthy X post, "But, for so many in my Party to knee jerk with unhinged calls for impeachment - and sadly omit in their statement support for Iran not having nuclear weapons, which has been a principle of our Party for 40 years -is truly TDS.”
As I am writing this report, this “war” that Democrats are talking about is just about over. Israel has stated it is winding down its attacks, and Iran carried out a retaliatory strike that failed, but said it will not look to escalate this any further. In my book, that is a massive win for Trump while once again making Democrats look utterly foolish.
