Democrats' Judge's Daughter Raises $93 Million During Trump Trial, Recusal Calls Increase

There are two prominent Democratic clients who have generated over $93 million in campaign donations by fundraising off of a particular criminal case, according to Red State.

These clients are represented by the daughter of the judge who is presiding over the hush-money trial that is taking place in New York.

Authentic Campaigns, a progressive political consulting firm based in Chicago, was founded by Loren Merchan, the daughter of Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan.

These clients, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) and the Senate Majority PAC, are clients of Authentic Campaigns.

Group Details

Authentic Campaigns, and therefore the judge's daughter, is actively making money from this sham attack against President Trump, meaning Judge Merchan has a conflict of interest. According to Steven Chung, a spokesman for Trump, told the New York Post that the evidence of bias is even clearer now. Merchan had previously ignored Trump's initial motion to recuse himself from the case in August.

According to documents provided by the Federal Election Commission, Adam Schiff's Senate campaign has received an astounding twenty million dollars in donations since it began soliciting contributions in April of last year, based on the 34-count indictment that was brought against Donald Trump.

From Schiff’s email.

A fundraising email sent by Schiff read as follows:

It is a somber moment, and unprecedented for a former president to be indicted, but his alleged offenses are also unprecedented. Trump will respond as he always does — playing the victim and blaming others for having the temerity to investigate him in the first place.

Since it started sending out fundraising emails after Trump's indictment, the Senate Majority PAC, which is a super PAC connected to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), has collected a total of $73.6 million in donations.

The PAC sent an email that said:

BREAKING NEWS: Donald Trump indicted by Manhattan grand jury. This is an important moment for our democracy, but our work isn’t over. We must continue protecting our Senate majority from GOP extremists. Please, rush in $10 (becomes $60) to help Defend the Senate.

Since 2019, the super PAC has conducted business with Authentic in excess of $15 million, which includes branding assistance and email fundraising services.

In the past year, Schiff's Senate campaign has also remitted payments to Authentic exceeding $10 million for digital advertising and a range of consulting services.

Loren Merchan, a former "director of digital persuasion" for the 2020 presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris, has conveyed her father's aversion towards the utilization of Twitter by politicians, using Trump as an illustrative case.

She stated the following during an appearance on a podcast in 2019:

I’ve actually had a couple conversations with my dad recently where he’s kind of like ‘I hate that politicians use Twitter,’ and like ‘it’s so unprofessional’ and you know, ‘that’s not how a politician should behave themselves,’ and I explain that like yeah I think there are a lot of instances where it is not used in, like when our President [Trump] tweets anything that he thinks, and like that’s not what he should be using it for.
